What it is

"You are the last survivor aboard a ship twisted by an alien presence." The Shape That Waits is "a turn-based roguelike of claustrophobic survival". Every move burns oxygen, wears down your sanity and draws the horrors in the halls closer. You scavenge for oxygen, weapons and gear as you crawl through the ship's "dying decks", with a map that changes each run. The store says "the Shape is always watching and always learning you". You aim with the crank and interact with A and B, and because it's turn-based it's "very easy to control". The content note lists "very mild cartoon violence and weapons".

It's by Glowtox Games (Craig Paul Green and Pedro Casavecchia), released in the Catalog in November 2025 for $6. It's a Panic Staff Pick, and Engadget's March 2026 sale round-up named it as a wishlist game. The store title is written "TheShapeThatWaits".
