What it is

Star Sled is "a throwback to arcade games of the 70s and 80s, with distinctive vector styling". You steer a fast-moving sled with the crank and encircle glowing Sparks with your "laser lariat" to capture them, while avoiding the deadly Trion Sentries. If you loop an enemy by mistake, it costs you. The missions build up to a showdown with the Trion Emperor. The crank is essential and "for precise movement".

It's one of Panic's in-house Season One games, designed and programmed by Greg Maletic, with music by Factory Default (Aaron Bell and Jesus Diaz). Playdate Unofficial says Tim Skelly's vector arcade games, such as Star Castle, were a big inspiration. It unlocked in Week 8 of Season One alongside Saturday Edition, free with the console.

On the card

Loop your laser lariat around Sparks, steer clear of Trion Sentries, and take on the Trion Emperor. A vector arcade throwback from Panic.
