What it is

Sound Mind is "a hide-and-seek game for two players sharing one Playdate". Its setup is a will. The late Richman Q DeSeese leaves his fortune "in unnaturally heavy doubloons" to his "selfish and conniving children", Kane and Mabel, on one condition: they spend the night locked in his haunted study, "with its cursed grandfather clock that stops time for one person every 30 minutes". Players take turns using hiding places, secret passages and traps to end the night with the whole inheritance. The twist is sound: "your opponent can hear every single thing you do".

It's by Chuck Jordan, who made Season One's Sasquatchers, with audio by Julian Kwasneski and Jared Emerson-Johnson of Bay Area Sound. The game has been in development for a long time. Its Catalog page was first published in November 2023, and Jordan's blog post that month ("Sound Mind, or Committing to the 1-bit") describes it as a "two-player game where you play as siblings fighting over your father's inheritance". Panic lists it among its "Monochrome Masterworks". The store page warns that it's "heavily dependent on audio, and it may not be playable for people with hearing loss". It uses A, B and the crank.

Sound Mind hasn't unlocked yet. It's one of the six games still to come in Season Three (two each Thursday through 29 October 2026). Its content note calls it "darkly comic", with "light-hearted references to death, funerals, and oblique mentions of murder".
