What it is
"You are the Root Bear serving bears their root beer. They're extremely picky on their pour, but they pay well." You use the crank to control the tap, getting the flow just right and stopping exactly at the fill line while the foam settles in ways that "can really mess you up" (Engadget). The closer to perfect, the bigger the tip. Bad pours get you less money and, sometimes, screaming bears. The "Game of the Beer" update added an Endless mode, a Flawless mode, global and local scoreboards, better performance, new art and sound, "fancier root beer physics" and Japanese localisation. It needs "a fair amount of precision with the crank".
It's by team root and built with the Noble Engine. It's been in the Catalog since November 2023 for $3 (also on itch.io), with updates into August 2026. Panic's staff note says it "became an overnight sensation on TikTok". The store mentions a 2023 Playdate Community Award, and it's in "Crank Wonders".
