What it is
Post Hero is "an adventure game where you play as a mail carrier on his first day on the job". What should be easy isn't: "Who knew you'd need to outsmart a vampire, help someone change a flat tire, foil a porch pirate, save a relationship and learn magic just to drop off some packages?" Simberg calls it a game "in the style of old Sierra games", minus the mean dead ends. There's no time limit, dying "is part of the fun", and a "mostly helpful Mail Gnome" gives hints in cryptic riddles. There are 146 points to find, three save slots, and "cameos from the Playdate Cinematic Universe". It uses the buttons and D-pad only. The content rating says it's for "everyone except porch pirates".
It's by Scenic Route Software (Shift, Lillybug, You're Going to Miss the Bus). It came to the Catalog in May 2023 for $8. It was nominated for Best Launch Experience and Best Adventure Game at the 2023 Playdate Community Awards, and Panic made it a Staff Pick. A sequel, Post Hero: BedBeard's Revenge, was announced in Panic's September 2026 press release.
