What it is
Crankstone is "a gallery shooter set in the legendary Wild West O.K. Corral, with a unique twist". Each level is broken up by fast minigames "à la WarioWare". As the town marshal you shift between three firing positions at the bottom of the screen, aiming at outlaws as they pop up, and you must avoid shooting innocents and the sheriff. There are three modes (an eight-level story, a daily arcade and a "saloon" for playing the six minigames on their own), lots of scoreboards, and seasonal challenge events. It uses the crank "with a fair amount of precision", plus the accelerometer and the microphone.
It's by Lugludum. It's been in the Catalog since August 2025 at $12 (also on itch.io) and was still being updated in October 2026. It was a finalist for Best Continued Support at the 2025 Playdate Community Awards.
